Costs & Equipment
At Star Aquatics, we believe clarity helps families plan confidently and swimmers focus on what matters most: skill, confidence, and joy in the water. This page outlines our current team fees and equipment expectations, so you'll always know what's needed and why. We keep costs as simple and transparent as possible, providing essential gear and support to help every swimmer feel prepared, capable, and ready to grow.
Costs and Fees
We keep our fee structure simple and consistent so families always know what to expect. Every swimmer receives the same high-quality coaching and supportive team experience, no matter their group or attendance level.
Fee | Amount | Details |
|---|---|---|
Team Registration Fee | $100 | Collected when joining Star Aquatics. Includes all admin and team equipment: mesh bag, kickboard, snorkel, cap, fins, paddles etc. |
USA Swimming Membership Fee | Approximately $80 | As determined by USA Swimming, required for all members. Billed globally each September. |
Monthly Training Fee | $120 | Covers all coaching, practices, and facility use. The fee remains the same for all swimmers regardless of group or number of practices attended. |
Account Reactivation Fee | $100 | Applied if a swimmer deactivates their membership and later returns to the team. Includes reissue of team equipment and team administration for the swimmer. |
Coach Meet Fee | $10 per day | Based on the number of days a meet is scheduled for. Most meets average about $10 to $30. Fees are for the entire meet and all sessions, including Prelim/Final meets. |
Note: USA Swimming offers an Outreach Membership Program that reduces the annual fee for qualifying families. Eligibility is determined by USA Swimming's national guidelines and required documentation.
Fundraising
Fall: the "Hour of Power"
A pledge driven event that collects an amount for the distance each swimmer completes. Each swimmer is asked to get $200 worth of pledges.
Spring: the raffle
A raffle for some great prizes, where each swimmer is asked to sell $100 worth of tickets.
Star Aquatics schedules at least two fundraisers per year. Fundraisers are a huge part of our commitment to keep trying fees low and affordable for our families. Fundraising is essential to keeping our team afloat.
Both efforts are important and your participation is essential. At this time we do not require participation, but I highly encourage every family to take part and help our team. There are gifts for the swimmer(s) who earn the most!
Equipment
We make sure every swimmer has the right tools to train with confidence, comfort, and joy. Some items are provided by Star Aquatics, while others are personal essentials each swimmer is responsible for bringing to practice.
Team-provided equipment
Issued when a swimmer joins the team and should be returned if they leave the team:
- Wet Bag
- Kickboard
- Pull Buoy
- Fins
- Team Swim Cap. Each swimmer receives a Star Aquatics cap for competitions. Caps do not have to be returned if the swimmer leaves the team.

Swimmers are responsible for bringing these items to every practice:
- Goggles (Recommended: Speedo Vanquisher, Arena Tracks Jr, for smaller heads)
- Prescription goggles, if needed (Speedo Vanquisher Optical Goggle)
- Training Swimsuit (Recommended: Any Arena, TYR or Speedo)

Optional and advanced equipment
As swimmers progress, coaches may recommend additional items to support advanced training and stroke development. Please do not purchase any advanced equipment without speaking to Coach Miguel first.
